Stratesy - What is it about?

Stratesy unit icons

Stratesy is a 2D Turn Based Strategy game created using the Haaf's Game Engine (HGE) and is coded in C++. I developed this game as part of my dissertation at City University with a key focus on gameplay balance and battle mechanics. The AI reacts to the environment and makes full use of all unit attacks and skills.

Stratesy is similar to Chess in the way the game is set up. However, instead of chess pieces, you have Archers, Swordsmen, Rogues, Mages and Priests!

Features

  • Play Versus AI
  • Play Versus Player 2 on same computer (hotseat mode)
  • Gain experience points and level up units
  • Battle mechanics which allow for 'misses', 'critical hits' and damage variation

Game Info

  • Each class has two unique skills
  • Units gain experience as they attack / use skills
  • Units can level up to increase their attack power
  • Each unit has their own movement pattern/ranges
  • Units cannot move to spaces occupied by other units
  • Probability

How To Play

  • All gameplay input is mouse based, clicking and drag/drop (possible iPhone port!?)
